Working From Home...
Working from home has kind of been common practice for me, but with the recent pandemic, I've had to make adjustments. It is no longer just ME, working at the dining room table; it is my husband working in the home office, on conference calls, zoom-like meetings, it's the kids running amok in the house, they're bored, hungry, etc.
With multiple distractions now, it is imperative that I follow my to-do lists. Who loves lists as much as I do?!?! I am constantly updating my lists. I've even considered adding one to my nightstand & at my bathroom vanity. My "working hours" have been much different now. I get my work done in the nighttime, once the kids go to bed & the hubby is finally finished with his work.
We are all trying to change with the times and I've been so thankful for understanding clients.I have had to be incredibly transparent with my clients. They all understand that I have children at home, so there WILL be background noise. I have moved my phone call space to my back porch. I am now realizing that I need more comfortable seating & better lighting. I cannot wait for the new house & my new office!
This entire process has helped me stay organized & focused. I have used this time to work on my continuing education, as well as earn my e-PRO certification. The best thing I took from this "pause" in my business, was to NOT STOP learning & preparing for my future.
